Music Review: The Eagles’ ‘The Long Run’

The Eagles' The Long Run

The EaglesThe Long Run might well have been called The Long Wait because the group’s last album of new material appeared way back in 1976. In the time between, the group didn’t lose its touch—but neither, it seems, did it learn any new tricks. The harmonic ballads and razor-sharp rockers on Long Run include numerous singles possibilities and much that will please any fan of the band. But you won’t find any surprises or innovations that could explain the three-year lapse. Perhaps the Eagles have simply become victims of the L.A. decadence that their lyrics so frequently describe.
