Though “Born to Be Bad” has a certain puerile charm and Lita Ford can play guitar, the Runaways‘ Queens of Noise easily earns its moniker. The pseudo-sexual vocals are calculated and colorless, and the girls’ plodding, anachronistic music sounds like the result of a rock band’s debut garage rehearsal. Since teenage males think about sex at least once every 10 seconds, according to a recent study, there may still be gold in them there grooves, however.
