Music Review: Gram Parsons and the Flying Burrito Brothers’ ‘Sleepless Nights’

Gram Parsons & Flying Burrito Brothers' Sleepless Nights

A trio of outtakes from sessions for the late Gram Parsons‘s Grievous Angel join nine of the singer’s 1970 Flying Burrito Brothers efforts on Sleepless Nights, a classic country disc. Sparkling instrumentation and the effervescent Parsons vocals that permeate such tracks as “Brand New Heartache,” “Honky Tonk Women” and “Crazy Arms” will make you wonder why they have been kept in the can for so long. I don’t know the answer but suggest you get ’em while you can.
