Today brought news of the loss of yet another important rock artist, Steely Dan‘s Walter Becker. He and his musical partner Donald Fagen were responsible for so much good music, and it’s sad to see Becker gone way too soon at age 67.

Way back in 1974, around the time of the release of Steely Dan’s Pretzel Logic, I spent several days hanging out with Becker and the band in L.A., where I watched them rehearse and perform.
