In the wake of successful programs in New York (Books on the Subway) and London (Books on the Underground), Chicago has launched the Books on the L program. I’m pleased to report that my Springsteen on Springsteen: Interviews, Speeches, and Encounters has been chosen to be included. Here’s how it works, according to the press release: “Books will be left behind in CTA L trains for people to take home and read. When they’re done reading, they return the book on the L for someone else.” The Leo Burnett advertising agency designed stickers with instructions for people to participate.
