It may take you a while to absorb all the carefully wrought Roger Waters lyrics on The Wall, Pink Floyd’s 12th LP, but your time will have been well spent. Masterfully combining many of the group’s previous themes, Waters limns a terrifying society that embraces enough madness to make Dark Side of the Moon seem like kid stuff. The music, which fits the lyrical landscape to a T, proves devastating as well. Crisp, exhilarating vocals and soaring, memorable melodies characterize the set, which also profits from the group’s inimitable guitar interplay and out-of-this-world production.
