Music Review: Ian Lloyd Gives Us ‘Goose Bumps’

Ian Lloyd's Goose Bumps

If you connect Ian Lloyd‘s name with the group Stories and its 1973 hit “Brother Louie,” your memory is good, but your expectations for this solo package are probably way off. A better reference point can be found in the Cars, whose Ric Ocasek contributed the album’s best song, “Slip Away.” Though no other track comes close to matching that one, authoritative vocals, relentless percussion, and catchy love lyrics pervade the set. Additional pluses include Larry Fast’s synthesizer and state-of-the-art production. Goose Bumps may be short on profundities, but it’s a whole lot of fun.
