Though 10cc has been cut in half by the departure of two members, the group’s sound hasn’t suffered a bit. In terms of both quality and commercial success, in fact, this well-produced new package easily outrates its most recent predecessor. The melodic “The Things We Do for Love,” a good-time rocker that has scored big as a single, exemplifies the set’s accessibility. But many of the other tracks, including “Good Morning Judge” and “I Bought a Flat Guitar Tutor,” offer better doses of the outfit’s deft humor. And for diversity, you can’t beat “Feel the Benefit,” an orchestrated ballad that incorporates a Latinized break and a hard-rocking Eric Stewart guitar solo.
