A catchy yet banal ballad that has been riding the singles charts for 17 weeks, the title cut of Bread‘s reunion album sums up its remaining contents. Smoothly performed and produced and sufficiently well hooked to keep you from turning off your radio, the songs are also eminently inconsequential. Though David Gates, for example, took a big step forward with his “Clouds/Rain Suite,” nothing here indicates that Bread’s members have progressed at all as a group since their 1974 split.
