Electric Light Orchestra: A New World Record

51yJPBZK3nLA New World Record is arguably not all new. Its version of “Do Ya,” the Move favorite, evidences little variation from the original, and throughout this album, ELO eschews tampering wiht the formula that fueled its previous Face the Music and Eldorado. I can’t blame the group, though. Combining lush orchestral effects and hard-rock beats with breathtaking production effects and knockout hooks, its formula is one of rock’s most potent. Best cut: “Tightrope.”
