I was saddened to learn of the March 27 death of Paul Williams, founder of the highly influential rock magazine Crawdaddy! and author of such books as Outlaw Blues. Williams had been in declining health since 1995, when he suffered a traumatic brain injury as a result of a bicycle accident. A 1974 interview by Williams appears in my book Springsteen on Springsteen, and a 1975 Williams piece will be included in my forthcoming Leonard Cohen on Leonard Cohen.
